) The Big Lebowski : The fellow abides , but not on Blu - electron beam . This is also the last fourth dimension all of Tara Reid ’s part looked human , so I ’m sure she ’d appreciate the memento . We bed it ’s already been transfer ; it was alreadyon HD DVD . So who ’s letting this aggression fend ?
) Star Wars Trilogy : There ’s no debate here , is there ? If there is , you might be in the improper place .
) Lord of the Rings Extended Version : Thetheatrical releaseis usable , but for the rightful LOTR fan there ’s no substitute for the 683 instant extended version . That ’s almost 130 supernumerary minutes of orc - smashing !
) Indiana Jones Trilogy : This jolly much sums up the total trouble : Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull has been out on Blu - beam forover a yearwhile the original trilogy gets travel by over . At least give us Raiders and Last Crusade — pretty certain no one would notice if you slipped in a videodisk of Temple of Doom .
) Saving Private Ryan : The most realistic war movie ever made , and Blu - ray feature can help fill in the historical setting to the havoc .
) Conan the Barbarian : Arnold ’s first guide role ( unless you count the Schwarzeneggeriffic docudrama Pumping Iron , which could habituate an upgrade of its own ) deserves best than a little girly man DVD departure .
) spirit up Away : Ghibli Studio , which made Spirited off as well as Howl ’s Moving Castle and more recently Ponyo , has Blu - ray versions useable in other countries but is lamentably underrepresented on Blu - ray in the US .
- Alien Quadrilogy : Alien and Aliens , mostly , but us Charles S Dutton lover have a soft spot for the third as well .
) Finding Nemo : arrive on , Pixar . Cars ison Blu - raybut this is n’t ? The Incredibles , too .
) Jurassic Park : For some mass it was the velociraptor . For others it was the T - Rex . But Jeff Goldbum make it out alive is the matter that really give me nightmares .
) Lawrence of Arabia : This was one of the movies Sony choose to show the superpower of Blu - ray with manner back in 2006 . So why not give up it already ?
) Singin ’ in the Rain : They do n’t all have to be action and risky venture . There ’s plenty of upbeat classics that deserve the Blu - beam treatment as well .
) The Royal Tenenbaums : So far Bottle Rocket is the only Wes Anderson on Blu - ray , and I ’d fence this would read the best of what ’s left .
) Mad Max / sore Max Beyond Thunderdome : Three movie enter , one film lives ( on Blu ): Road Warrioris available , but the original Mad Max and Beyond Thunderdome are languishing in standard def .
) Miller ’s Crossing : There ’s a lot of Coen chum omit from the Blu - electron beam catalogue ( including our issue one pick ) , but this is them at their must coherent and visually exuberant .
) Time Bandits : This is available in Europe , but has yet to make the US . aboveboard , put this and Brazil on the list ; I just desire more Terry Gilliam on Blu - ray .
) The Ten Commandments : Moses can part the Red friggin Sea , but Paramount ca n’t handle this one round-eyed picture show - to - digital transfer ?
) Bad News bear : The best sports comedy not available on Blu - ray of light . Also , anyone else keep forgetting how un - microcomputer this movie can be ? That Tanner Boyle ’s got some mouth on him .
) Rudolph the Red - Nosed Reindeer : Everybody demand a seasonal pick , and mine ’s this Burl Ives Greco-Roman .
