This is either an unfortunate error ( most likely ) , or , give the setting , a moment of extremely screaming triviality ( less likely , but fun to guess ) .

Last week , Doctor Who ’s 11th season aired an installment name “ Kerblam ! ” about a futuristic online retailer that was , basically , outer space - Amazon . Jeff Bezos ’ ubiquitous caller did n’t get a name bead but honestly , it did n’t need it — it was an implausibly broad jab . So it ’s in darkness funny that , if you were in the U.S. last night and need to watch “ Kerblam ! ” on Amazon Video ( the only way to stream Who ’s up-to-the-minute season outside of BBC America ’s app) … you instead get another episode entirely . In fact , you got “ The Witchfinders ” , which is mark to publicize in the UK and the US this coming Sunday .

On top of that , if you attempt to ascertain the episode with closed subtitle on , you in reality got the captions for “ Kerblam ! ” rather than “ The Witchfinders ” , leading to very bizarre position where masses from 17th hundred Lancashire were let the cat out of the bag about delivery robots and storage warehouse conveyors . Here ’s some fabulously out of context and moderately much spoiler - barren screengrabs , but if you ’re look to keep off anything from the episode , consider this your monition :

The problem was widespread . Whether you tried to purchase “ Kerblam ! ” as a standalone episode , or seek to view it as part of your season pass for Doctor Who , for a catamenia of 60 minutes last night you instead got “ The Witchfinders ” solar day before anyone else could see it . Which , when you think about it , trying to go back in metre — even if only to last Sunday — and instead getting a taste of the future is itself a very Doctor Who experience .

io9 has since corroborate that the erroneousness has been fixed , and has reached out to both Amazon and BBC America for scuttlebutt on the position . UPDATE 10.45 AM EST : BBC Studios has now provided a remark to io9 acknowledging the outflow :

We ’re aware that an upcoming episode of Doctor Who was made available to Amazon Prime drug user in the US in computer error . We are investigate how this happened and have taken the stride to take away it . BBC Studios would like to apologise if anyone ’s enjoyment of the series has been spoiled by this mishap .

For now , though , Who fans — if you want to stay spoiler free until this Sunday , you might want to be a short bit careful hanging around on the internet for the next few days .
