Pennywise was the scarey part of the recent It motion-picture show — but some of the human character were most as terrifying , like the onetime - kid bully who menaced the Losers Club . Two of those doer are a part of the intriguing casting of It theatre director Andy Muschietti ’s version of craze comic Locke & Key .
Deadline reportsthat Owen Teague , who play eventual Pennywise victim Patrick Hockstetter in It , has just been cast in Muschietti ’s Hulu pilot . The project also feature It mean miss Megan Charpentier — the pill pusher ’ daughter who writes “ Loser ” on Eddie ’s roll ( she also played one of the nervous little girls in Muschietti ’s breakout movie , Mama)—as well as Jackson Robert Scott ( It ’s poor li’l boating partisan , Georgie Denbrough ) .
Locke & Key , of course , is based on Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez ’s IDW horror fancy comic . Hill compose the script , which is about three siblings who move with their mother ( The Conjuring 2 ’s Frances O’Connor ) to a sprawling New England firm — a place they learn has portals to other dimensions that can be open using witching keys , as well as a lallygag daemon who would very much care to get those keys — after their Father-God is remove . Teague play a riotous tike who falls under the demon ’s spell and does some very terrible thing — even worse than his eccentric in It .
The Locke & Key adaptation has been in the works since at least 2011 , when a pilot was made but never aired . Hulu order this in style airplane pilot in April , and it was in the beginning going to be helmed by Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson . In June , he dropped out due to scheduling conflicts with another video - pilot adaptation he ’s working on : TNT ’s Snowpiercer project .
Even though Muschietti is similarly busy — he ’s experience the It subsequence anda Robotech movieon his to - do list — it seems very hopeful that he ’ll last be the one to bring Locke & Key to the silver screen , and is in all probability the just luck yet at getting this adaptation made into an actual series . We already get it on he ’s got kid - centric ( but not Thomas Kyd - friendly ) horror down pat .
