Last month,Bebe Rexhaputsizeism in the fashion industry on blast. The singer called out designers who allegedly wouldn’t dress her for the2019 Grammy Awardsbecauseshe was “too big.”But Rexha did not let body shamers defeat her. Instead, she hit the carpet with confidence at Sunday’s awards show in a show-stopping red Monsoori gown that made her “feel like a princess.”

The Grammy nominee, 29, opened up about the support she received from designers an fans after sharing her story on Instagram.

“It’s been amazing. I didn’t expect it. I just did the video because I was really heartbroken and it bummed me,” she told Ryan Seacrest onE!’s Live from the Red Carpetshow. “They said I was too big or fat and I love my body and I just want other girls to love their bodies.”

After getting candid about her dress hunt, Rexha said big name designers Jeremy Scott of Moschino, Christian Siriano and even Karl Lagerfeld reached out to her.

“I was like, ‘This is amazing,'” she shared.

When Seacrest asked if any of the designers who originally turned her down changed their minds, Rexha responded: “I would say yes.”

She added, “I mean, I’m okay. I don’t get angry at people. I just want to wear people and work with people who love me for me.”

Before hitting the carpet, the singer shared a behind-the-scenes look at her dress hunt with E! News.

“At the end of the day, I truly believe what is inside and the music you’re making and the art you’re making [is what counts],” Rexha said during the segment. “I want to have a Cinderella moment: I want it [the dress] to be so hard to walk in. I can’t believe that I am finally nominated for a Grammy, two Grammys! For me this is my Cinderella moment.”

And her family was there to see that Cinderella moment: Rexha’s whole immediate family, including her mom, dad and brother, joined her on the red carpet.

“They’ve been there for me through everything, so I want them all there for this,” shetold PEOPLE ahead of Sunday’s awards. “We will be celebrating no matter what, win or lose.”

Rexha alsotold PEOPLEthat she had one goal when it came to a dress: “My main thing is Ijust need to feel good!”
