RAW or JPEG ? JPEG or RAW ? Too . Many . Decisions . Fortunately , a new Canon patent suggests technology that could make that selection for you .
Discovered byEgami , the patent explains a feature for DSLRs that could , if you need it to , automatise the pick between JPEG and RAW file types . The melodic theme is wide-eyed : when acquiring 100 of image , it pays to save the best one as RAW and the less good one as JPEGs , but nobody has the clock time to do that by deal .
So , when shooting in volley modal value or panning while go after a content , the technology would plainly speedily check the images for caliber — and then spare the file cabinet accordingly . So , using information about frame , sharpness or something else , the images deemed of high quality by the tv camera would be pull through as RAW , while the lesser ones would be spare as JPEG . Simple .
Obviously , this is only a patent of invention , so it may never turn into a real thing . But it sure sound like a nifty trick to save memory card capacity — and effort . [ EgamiviaCanon WatchviaPeta Pixel ]
