The War Master : Rage of the Time Lords will see the Master pull out together a dastardly strategy to defeat the Daleks for good , and end the infamous Time War — the state of war that would not just see Gallifrey destroy , but himself so traumatized that he would flee to the end of the creation and mask his memories , becoming the small Professor Yana in the2007 installment “ Utopia ” . As ever when it comes to the Master ’s architectural plan , only the Doctor is subject of stopping his former booster . But will the Doctor actually want to ? After all , the Master is not the only Time Lord we know who cash in one’s chips through some middling radical changes thanks to the stresses of a War across all of metre and existence .
It ’s an incredibly fascinating idea to play with — especially for the ramifications it has as to why the 10th Doctor does n’t realise who Professor Yana really is when they encounter each other again in “ Utopia . ” Can we expect some timey - wimey nonsense to pass over out their remembering of this adventure by the final stage of madness of the Time Lords ? Did the 8th Doctor’stransformation into the War Doctorhave something to do with it ?
