It ’s definitely fluffy and lightweight , and the show feels more like an ABC Family show than an ABC show . But given that we liked Kyle XY and loved The Middleman , there ’s nothing incorrect with ABC Family . you’re able to see how the show is finding its substructure after a so - so pilot , and there are some fun twists on the root word that world power wo n’t needs make your life better .

And meanwhile , Daphne is blackjack J.J. into doing her homework for her , in substitution for not telling their parents about J.J. ’s powers . ( For some reason , Jim , Stephanie and Daphne have all told the rest of the menage about their powers , but J.J. is being tightlipped . )
As for Daphne , she ’s got problems of her own . Thanks to her mind - reading mogul , she realize that something bad is going on in her friend Megan ’s life — but when she tries to be helpful , Megan freaks out that Daphne seems to bang so much . Megan melt down away from Daphne , who vow to tell Megan her secret — much to her parent ’ disheartenment .
Oh , and Detective Cho , Jim ’s ally in the police violence , has died and everybody thinks it ’s a suicide except for Jim — and it ’s likely related to the faint supervillain guy from the first sequence .
installment four :
This is the “ Jim vs. the vigilante ” sequence . ( I do n’t in reality know the episode titles , so I ’m just summing them up here . There ’s a nasty mugger victimizing a pitiful woman , and Jim is about to ill-use in , when a vague trope shoots the mugger . Jim has to hotfoot the mugger to the Emergency Room and allow him there with a note sound out the mugger should be nab . Later , the same hit man kills a criminal in the park . The couple who witness the event ID Jim as the perp because he was there — and because Jim is a police survey creative person , he ’s stuck having to draw a ikon of himself as they describe him . Jim is determined to go after this vigilante , even though the cops secretly think the guy ’s doing them a favor and George imagine they should leave it alone . Jim in the end finds a suspect — a hombre key Andrew Meyers , whose kid was shot in the park . Jim has a few drunkenness with Meyers and wangles a kinda / sorta confession out of him , but will the cops hear ? It ’s not clear .
Meanwhile , J.J. discovers that his “ J.J. vision ” does n’t just let him ace tests — it also lets him join the football team and winnings games . But now everybody suspects him of being on execution - enhancing drug , and his parents mistrust he ’s get power he has n’t tell them about . And Daphne tries to use her mind - reading might to crash the popular kid ’ party , but everything she does just makes things worse for her . And Stephanie gets allot a new “ lab partner , ” an odious researcher named Chiles who ’s assign to do work with her on her inquiry and snoops into her business .
instalment five :
There ’s a superpowered woman named Rebecca who just wants her normal life back , and it vocalise like she ’s connect to Stephanie ’s hirer somehow . The pills he gave her do n’t work , and so she ’s been pluck pharmacies and vote out innocent people , endeavor to become normal again . But it has n’t worked . She show up up and face Stephanie ’s boss just as Stephanie is about to give a big speech , but there are sentry duty waiting for her and they hit her with a tranq dart .
The guards are sweep Rebecca into an overlooked van as Stephanie gives her voice communication , but she wake up and busts out of the van , taking out the guards . Jim confronts her , and Rebecca ’s amazed that Jim is still awake after what Rebecca did to him . Rebekah hints at a confederacy that ’s creating superpowered the great unwashed , but it ’s all very shadowy . She attacks Jim with her shockwave mightiness and he almost passes out — but just then , the mysterious figure known only as the Watcher snatch Rebecca and sweep her up into the air .
Meawhile , J.J. has to pee in a cup to prove he ’s not taking drugs , but it sound like he finesses it somehow , and meanwhile he admits to his parents that he has superpowers like the rest of the family . And Daphne sees her thoroughly - looking teacher having coffee bean with a classmate , Olivia , and surmise they ’re have sex . Daphne “ hears ” their thoughts enough to receive what she thinks is verification — but it wrench out the teacher was in reality make sexuality with Olivia ’s mama . Daphne only realise the truth after she come forward with her suspiciousness and ruins the instructor ’s life .
installment six :
This one begin with two dissimilar family dinner party : the Staffords , who are a regular family freaking out over the fact that their son just wants to play telecasting games all the meter and does n’t sit down for meals , and the Powells , who are worried that they pass all their prison term verbalize about their great power and how they ’re going to yield all the home repairs to all the legal injury that Jim ’s superstrength has caused . Instead , the cops put the sketch on television , and the criminal go back to the Staffords ’ household to shut up the kid . Jim shows up and saves Trent , but then everyone has to worry that Trent wo n’t keep the secret about Jim ’s great power .
And meanwhile , Stephanie ’s parent are visit , and nothing is ever good enough for them . They think Jim ’s a loser and do n’t appreciate how successful Stephanie is . J.J. is playing pool against his gramps , who underestimates him . J.J. wager he can go under all the pond balls , and if he bring home the bacon , he begin grandad ’s car . He does win , of course , and grandpa teach an important lesson about underestimating the Powell family . And the grandparents start to appreciate Jim , specially when they hear vague stuff and nonsense about how Jim is helping the less fortunate and the helpless . The grandpa finally kinda / sorta gives license for Jim to have married his daughter . The nanna admit to Stephanie that she feels threatened by how successful Stephanie is in her career , since the grandma was just a lady of the house .
Also , George , Jim ’s African American friend who ’s an assistant district lawyer , gets tear over for driving while black , and proves that the police force is his major power . ( It tell that in the directions . ) He reproof the bull about the 14th Amendment until they are well and truly schooled , in what could be one of the coolest moments on telly this dusk , if it ’s done decent .
George : Look , military personnel , you pose any cause to pull me over ? I ’m an ADA . Got my ID right here —
As George attain for his jacket pocket , the cop , usurp George is reaching for a gun , whips out his weapon .
fuzz : Hands where I can see ’em !
George shows off his own superhero acquirement — the law .
George : Making assumptions about me base on my coming into court is a breach of the 4th Amendment of the Constitution .
The cop grows intimidated , get down his weapon more or less .
George : Also , familiarize yourself with the 14th Amendment , which requires that all citizens be treated equally under the jurisprudence , irrespective of the color of their skin . You want me to pop citing from the 1954 ACLU suit , White Vs . Williams , or you respectable ?
