As per usual , the JPL applied scientist have shun the traditional jack - o - lantern morbid faces in favour of space - theme creations , admit a UFO abducting a moo-cow in its traction beam , a pumpkin - seed - swallowingblack gob , and a telescope peering out at the satellite of the Solar System as they orb the Sun .
