Paul Ruddis looking back on a seemingly painful memory — when his Kansas City Chiefs lost in Super Bowl LIX.

At one point, the star, seated next to his 19-year-old son Jack, leaned over in his red Chiefs jacket with his hand on his chin. Then, he clutched his head in his hands when the Eagles scored yet another touchdown.
Now, more than a month after the big game, theAnt-Manactor is offering a little perspective about its stunning outcome.
“It’s okay. I’m happy for all of those kids,” he told PEOPLE. “There were a lot of kids in Eagles jerseys hugging their parents who were wearing Eagles jerseys, and having been through that experience with my own kid, I was legitimately happy that they got to have that experience. Because that’s what it’s about, really.”
Rudd and his son have long celebrated happier moments in Chiefs history.
In 2024, they pulled up to Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas in Chiefs gear to watch the franchise play the San Francisco 49ers in the championship game.
Rudd sported the late linebacker Derrick Thomas’s No. 58 jersey, while Jack rocked cornerback Trent McDuffie’s No. 22.

“I’m hoping that I can see it in person,” Rudd told PEOPLE at the time. “Although watching that game is very stressful.”
The star, who was crownedPEOPLE’s Sexiest Man Alive in 2021, continued, “It’s always tough when you have a real vested interest. Unless it’s a total blowout, but I’m really hoping that they win.”
He added, “I just want to be elated at the end of the game.”
