There’s been a lot of drama in the world of professional high-fashion modeling of late. Rebecca Romijn said social media-famous personalities are “not true supermodels,” then Stephanie Seymour said thatKendall JennerandGigi Hadid“deserve their own title” separate from the one her and her crew established as the “original supermodels” in the early ’90s. And while logistics are being debated endlessly (here’s afull recap of the debate) one thing’s for sure: models of decades’ past were the OGs of pairing their hottest denim with the tightest of tops and the new “social media models” are following their lead.
Below, check out the sartorial similarities between the supers of the ’90s and the social media stars of today. One thing’s for certain: These models must have drawers upon drawers dedicated to denim and tight-fitting tops.)
As mentioned earlier, tensions between Jenner and Seymour were running a little high (theterm “bitches of the moment” was used, though Seymour hassince apologized), but they can bury the hatchet over their shared affection for see-through lace shirts. They both pair their delicate tops with straight-cut “mom jean” and even match down to their pointy-toe black boots!
